History of The Inn at the Ninth Hole:

Tanemura road: now 20th Ave SE: Ichitaro Tanemura came to Canada as a young man, he worked in a hotel at the coast before arriving in salmon Arm in 1910. Together with his brother George and his brother in law he formed a partnership and start farming in South canoe area. In the year 1906 a school was build on the 20th Ave se at the location the Inn is located now.

The school opened on march 12th 1906 and was closed in 1950 and the building was used as a private home till 1995. The house was turned down to make place for the Inn, a fire drill made an end of the house. The school was build by the firm of Jackson for the grand sum of $ 1700.-

In 1997 the Inn at the Ninth Hole was opened by the designer and builder of the place, after two years the Inn was sold to a couple from the Netherlands who owned and run the place for four years, in 2003 The Inn is sold to Rene and Joaney who are running the Inn ever since. In 2007 the Inn was nominated for 3 award and winner of the People's choice excellence award from Chamber of commerce Salmon Arm. In 2008 we received an award from the golf fee card international for "one of the best places in the world" Since 2004 The Inn at the Ninth Hole receives the highest possible ratings at trip advisor and approved accommodations of British Columbia. In 2012 we ended #3 overall in the Shuswap Tourism friendly service and #1 accommodation.
