Craigellachie - The Last Spike

25 km east of Sicamous on Trans Canada Hwy, turn south.

 

This location is famous for the point where the "last spike" joined the western part of the Canadian Pacific Railway to the rail line coming from the east. Plaque and display commemorates the event. Picnic tables and Craigellachie Station, gift shop and information centre.

Extensive collection of antique tools, engines and equipment.

Record of the history of the area and includes a working model of the gypsum mine as it was in the early 1930's. 

Falkland & District Heritage Park, Museum and Archives

 

 

The park-like grounds also include one of the original churches, picnic area, CN railcar, blacksmith shop and a newly planted forest.
